Dell Latitude E6320 Laptop Review

Dell has just announce plan to release their new laptop ‘Latitude E6320′ packed with features, that makes something different. It starts with a powerful Intel’s 2.3GHz processor, know as Core i5 2410M CPU. Not too big and not too small, the up coming laptop has 13.3-inch (1366×768) anti-glare display, up to 4GB of installed DDR3 SDRAM, and 500GB SATA hard drive.
There are plenty of other interesting things about the Latitude E6320 besides its processor though. Dell has revamped the case design and claims it meets the US Department of Defense MIL-STD-810G standard for ruggedness. The surprisingly rigid lid is made out of aluminium, while a protective magnesium alloy strip wraps around the edge of the laptop. The keyboard is apparently designed to be spill-proof too.

For connectivity, Latitude E6320 is versed with 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet, WiMAX Options, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.o, 5-in-1 label reader, USB 2.0, VGA port, HDMI, USB/eSATA combo, SmartCard Reader/Fingerprint Reader, Microphone combo jack, Mobile Broadband as well as GPS Options. Dimensions of Dell Latitude E6320 laptop are 335mm x 223.3mm x 25.40mm-30.1mm as well as has 3 cell/6 cell/9 dungeon Lithium Ion Dell LATITUDE E6320 battery. Unfortunately, the device doesn’t have the DisplayPort connector for attaching outmost monitors. The Dell Latitude E6320 is approaching will be release during this Spring with starting price at $859.

Although the E6320 does come off as a bit pricey for its specs, the external casing and design potentially make up for the price tag. The E6320 notebook is built from a MIL-STD 810G (Military Standard) Tri-Metal case with reinforced metal hinges. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you to take this laptop into battle, Dell has also outfitted the E6320 with an anodized Aluminum display back, a spill resistant keyboard, and a 360˚ bumper that protects from bumps and bruises.

The remodeled design of the new Latitude reinforces a magnesium alloy chassis with a ring of alloy running around the circumference of each laptop adding further strength. Dell is clearly taking on Panasonic’s Toughbooks and the ThinkPads with spill-proof keyboards and MIL-STD-810G accreditation across the range.

Connectivity is the final hurdle. The two USB ports on our sample were only USB 2 compliant – with one doubling as an eSATA port. Given the range of docking options that are backwards compatible with previous Latitude generations, the provision of just two USB ports isn’t a deal-breaker. DisplayPort is a more notable casualty – Dell claims businesses prefer HDMI and D-SUB – but otherwise, the breadth of connectivity is ample. ExpressCard/34 and an SD card reader are accompanied by optional extras including standard or contactless SmartCard readers and a fingerprint reader.

Dell's new Latitude laptops are among the first we've seen to come equipped with Intel's new Sandy Bridge processors. The Dell Latitude E6320 AC adapter pre-production unit we saw came fitted with a 2.3GHz Core i5 2410M processor and 2GB of RAM. All other specifications being equal, it should be faster and consume less battery power than a laptop with the comparable previous generation 2.27GHz Core i5 430M processor. The Intel vPro set of administration technologies is also supported.

Doing business today means working anytime, anywhere. You need a laptop to keep up with your work style. Latitude E-Family laptops combine world-class design with durability to perform, wherever business takes you.

This is a common display format for subnotebooks. Netbooks, UMPC and some subnotebooks have tinier displays. Nevertheless, the majority of standard laptops has a higher format. The advantage of a small display is, that the subnotebook can be small dimensioned and can be carried easily. Further the small display needs few energy, which improves the Dell Latitude E6320 battery runtime and in consequence the mobility. The disadvantage is that the reading of texts is a bit exhausting for the eyes, especially with high resolutions.

Remove all the screws and you’ll find one of the latest Intel Sandy Bridge processors. The basic model starts with the i3 but you can go all the way to the i7-2620M. The processors are backed up by a lot of DDR3 RAM – up to 8GB. There are plenty of storage options: you can use the 250GB or 500GB HDDs or you can go for the much faster 256GB SSD. Latitude E6320 isn’t meant for heavy multimedia use, so the guys at Dell have chosen the Intel HD 3000 Graphics chip.

Other feature of the Latitude E6320 includes 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000, Bluetooth 3.o, WiMAX Options, 5-in-1 of card reader, USB 2.0, VGA port, HDMI output port, USB/eSATA combo, Microphone combo jack, Smartcard Reader/Fingerprint Reader, Mobile Broadband, GPS Options, power 65w 3.34a Dell Latitude E6320 charger for high Quality Speakers and a 3 cell/6 cell/9 cell Lithium Ion battery. Dimensions of Dell Latitude E6320 laptop are 335mm x 223.3mm x 25.40mm-30.1mm. The machine is handle hard-core environments built and reinforced metal hinges, an LCD seal and spill-resistant keyboard, vibration, dust have not a problem and a cover from anodized aluminum. Unfortunately, the appliance is not a display port connector for connecting external monitors.

It’s the transformation in build quality that truly stuns. Previous Latitudes never felt insubstantial, but they wilt next to the new generation. Dell’s redesign has seen the new Latitude emerge with a reinforced magnesium alloy chassis, strengthened further by a ring of alloy running around the circumference of each laptop. With spill-proof keyboards and MIL-STD-810G accreditation across the range, Dell is taking on not only the ThinkPads, but also Panasonic’s Toughbooks at their own game.

Looking at, for example, the top of the range represented by the model Dell Latitude E6520 15.6-inch, we find that Dell allows you to choose between different versions of the Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft, but also, possibly, the Linux distribution Ubuntu 10.10. Based on the Intel Express HM65, Dell Latitude E6520 can be fitted with either an anti-glare panel LED-backlit 1366 x 768 pixels or a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (FullHD).

The Dell Latitude E6320 Laptop is also equipped also boasts a Fingerprint reader technology, SmartCard Reader slot, VGA output, HDMI connector, USB 2.0 posts plus USB/eSATA combo slot, and will be comes with a choice of Genuine Windows 7, Genuine Windows Vista or Linux Ubuntu 10.10 operating system.

HP EliteBook 8560w Laptop Review

HP Elite Book 8560w laptop has 15.6-inch diagonal HD display with a 1600 x 900 resolution, choice of an Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, up to 32GB of memory, up to 750GB HDD or up to 256GB SSD, and ATI Firepro M5950 graphics for 1 GB of video memory or NVIDIA Quadro 1000M/2000M graphics for 2 GB of video memory. It comes with Windows 7 professional Operating System and Powered with HP Long Life 8-cell (75 WHr) Li-Ion HP EliteBook 8560w battery.

Hewlett-Packard (HP), one of the well-known provider of IT products has recently announced another EliteBook series workstation laptop namely, HP EliteBook 8560w which is powered by Intel Core i7-2820QM/2720QM/2630QM/2620M processor or Intel Core i5-2540M/2520M processor. It runs on Genuine Windows 7 Professional 32/64-bit, or Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit/64-bit, or Genuine Windows 7 Home Basic 32 or Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic 32 or FreeDOS operating system. The upcoming workstation laptop of HP offers Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi connectivity options. It also offers Blu-ray R/RE DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL, DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL and DVD-ROM.
There is also a new (and ugly, in my opinion) silver strip decal along the bottom of the HP EliteBook 8560w AC adapter which boasts the notebook’s “Mobile Workstation” status in a questionable orange-colored font. However, some (including me) might be impressed with the new circular finish and backlit HP logo.

Port selection on the EliteBook 8560w include 2 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0 ports (one of them is an ‘always-on’ port, for charging devices when the PC is off), USB 2.0 + eSATA combo port, dedicated headphone and microphone jacks, Firewire, VGA, Display Port, Express Card 54 and SD/MMC slot. Again, no word if the EliteBook 8560w will support super high capacity SDXC cards.

Either way, the EliteBook 8560w is the first ever mainstream device (and first and only notebook right now) to have a CFast card slot, and I think there may be one reason or another behind this seemingly random appearance of the slot.

HP must have thought it could sneak this one by us -- and it would have succeeded too, if it wasn't for those meddling tipsters. A close examination of the recently announced EliteBook 8560w's press shot reveals it has a CFast slot, an interesting tidbit not mentioned in the release or the spec sheet. This is, to our knowledge, the first notebook to ship with a slot for the updated CompactFlash format, though the lack of cameras and other devices using the medium makes it a somewhat superfluous feature at the moment. Still, with transfer rates significantly faster than current CompactFlash cards and twice that of SDXC cards (with room to grow), we assume its only a matter of time before Nikon and Canon slap these bad boys in a few high-end shooters. Closeup shot after the break.

It is also kind of strange that the 8560w is the only one out of the three which sports a CFast slot in press photos, and the CFast slot appears in all standalone press images of the HP EliteBook 8560w battery but slot disappears all together on all three models in the ‘family photo’ of the EliteBooks above.

Additionally, the HP DreamColor display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) native resolution option and a backlit keyboard on the HP EliteBook 8560w. The EliteBook laptops are also equipped with a variety of ports, including USB 3.0, eSATA and USB 2.0 charging ports.

Like its two siblings released today, the HP EliteBook 8560w charger sports a new full-chiclet style keyboard, orange colored pointing stick, larger multi-touch trackpad and replaces the old (and sometimes imprecise) touch-sensitive control strip above the keyboard with hardware keys to HP Quick Web, wireless on/off and mute functions.

HP EliteBook 8560w is powered by Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU processor, upto 32GB of memory, up to 750GB HDD or up to 256GB SSD and AMD FirePro M5950 graphics for 1 GB of video memory or NVIDIA Quadro 1000M/2000M graphics for 2 GB of video memory.

The HP EliteBook 8560w sports a 15.6-inch diagonal HD display with 1GB of video memory of AMD FirePro graphic or NVIDIA Quadro graphics with 2GB of video memory. The optional HP DreamColor display on the EliteBook 8560w and 8760w also allows for more than 1 billion active color possibilities. EliteBook 8560w starts at $1,349–expected to be available in May.

MSI Wind U270 Reviews

The 12.1in MSI Wind U270 notebook makes use of AMD's Fusion E-350 accelerated processing unit (APU) to offer better-than-usual all-round performance in a form factor that's not much bigger than a typical netbook. In particular, the Fusion APU gives the U270 better credentials than most netbooks when it comes to multimedia tasks, and you can easily hook it up to TV using HDMI. The other selling point of this laptop is the inclusion of USB 3.0.

It’s rumored that MSI would bring exciting news to us at upcoming CES by emerging MSI Wind U270 with 1.6GHz AMD Zacate processor. According to a small Taipei-based event, the new machine will become official in the coming days. As a 11.6″ netbook, the Wind U270 features a 1.6GHz Zacate processor, 4GB of RAM, and 320-500GB HDD hard drive. It has no optical drive. The MSI Wind U270 battery also highlights a VGA output, two USB 2.0 ports, a single USB 3.0 socket, a Kensington lock port, 4-in-1 card reader, HDMI port, Ethernet jack and an overly glossy 1366 x 768 resolution panel. No word on pricing and release date yet.

Specifications

* 1.6GHz Zacate accelerated processing unit
* Radeon HD 6310 graphics
* DirectX 11 API support
* 4GB of RAM
* 320GB/500GB hard drive
* 11.6-inch display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels
* 1.3 megapixel web camera
* D-Sub and HDMI interface
* SD card slot
* Card reader
* USB 3.0 port
* ECO power-saving technology
* weight 1.3kg

Do high performance notebook computers necessarily need to be big and clunky? MSI just rolled out its new generation Wind U270 laptop which is light and portable like a netbook, but has a comfortable 12.1-inch screen, a full-size Chicklet keyboard, and features AMD’s powerful new dual core E-350 processor with AMD Radeon™ HD 6310 Discrete-Class display chip for awesome display performance on par with that of a discrete graphics card. Both highly portable and powerful, the MSI Wind U270 AC adapter gives you the best of both worlds.

This is obviously affected by the presence of a video subsystem AMD Radeon 6310 welded directly into the APU. Field tests confirm that the video section of AMD Fusion can make the best possible resolution of 1366×768 pixels shcermo of the Wind U270 allows you to watch videos in HD 720p and 1080p without any slowdown or a decent 3D gaming.

MSI started showing off the Wind U270 laptop in December and I got a chance to check out the transportable laptop at CES in January. But the company has finally gotten around to putting out a press release, so we finally have detailed specs for the MSI Wind U270.

The MSI worked fine when connected to our TV and we think it can make a nice little makeshift media centre for viewing videos and listening to music. Its 500GB hard drive also allows you to store a decent amount of media on it so you won't have to make extensive use of external hard drives. But if you did, you'd be able to take advantage of USB 3.0 and transfer files a lot quicker than you would be able to with a regular USB 2.0 drive.

MSI Wind U270 netbook has shown it’s self at a press event in Taipel an early preview of some of its CES wares to the local media. Among the devices on display by far the most interesting was the 11.6 inch MSI U270 which was running on an AMD development platform. A Rep from MSI let us know that it was in fact running on the 1.6- GHz Zacate Processor from AMD. The unit has a very thin bezel around its 1366 x 768 resolution display. As for other specs we know they are planning a 320-500GB HDD and up to 4GB of RAM.The U270 also offers i USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, VGA out, HDMI, SD card reader and the standard audio jack, ethernet & kensington lock. The finish of the unit is very glossy and a finger print magnet just like its screen.

The overall results U270 is very good, but still does not remove the APU module that Fusion can feel as slow as a normal Intel Atom netbook in some circumstances. If you surf the web and come across a site that has lots of Flash ads, for example, can last up to half of the CPU and slow things greatly. This is despite the Fusion E-350 has two cores. In short, the MSI Wind U270 charger is better than the typical netbook 10In running dual-core Intel Atom processor (like the Acer Aspire One Happy), but it still feels slow in certain situations. As a netbook, you can use for basic web browsing, creation of Office documents, view photos, listen to music and watch videos.

Companies releasing info on their 2011 products prior to CES could lessen the importance of the Las Vegas show. However, with the plethora of technology which will be on display in Nevada, one of two early releases can’t hurt too much. The Wind U270 netbook is an 11.6-inch device with a 1.6GHz AMD Zacate processor - the first we’ve seen with this processor. The U270 will have 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and no optical drive. Other specs include a VGA output, two USB 2.0 ports, a single USB 3.0 socket, a Kensington lock port, 4-in-1 card reader, Ethernet jack and an 1366 x 768 resolution panel.

MSI will release two new laptops namely the MSI Wind U270 Series Laptops and MSI X-Slim X370, both of them comes with the latest generation AMD processor dual core E-350 and AMD Radeon HD 6310 discrete graphics. Especially for MSI X-Slim X370 will be present premises 13-inch screen, webcam, USB 3.0 port, technology, power-saving Eco MSI MSI Wind U270 while features such as 12-inch screen, Blu-Ray drives, ports USB 3.0 ports, and weighing approximately 1.3 kilograms.

Especially for MSI X-Slim X370 will come with 13-inch screen, webcam, USB 3.0 port, the MSI technology Eco power-saving while the MSI Wind U270 has features like 12-inch screen, Blu-Ray drives, USB ports 3.0 ports, and weighing approximately 1.3 kilograms.

In addition, MSI Wind U270 laptops come with HDMI and D-Sub which memungkinka can connect an external monitor, two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0, 4-in-1 card reader, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and webcam HD 720p (30fps). This is a package 250GB/320GB hard drive, up to 8GB of RAM, and 3 – or 6-cell Li-Ion MSI Wind U270 battery. MSI Wind U270 notebook dimensions are 297 x 190 x 31 mm and weighs approximately 1.3 new kg.Laptop MSI Wind U270 is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. There are currently no price for this notebook.
