14-inch EliteBook 8460w, 15.6-inch EliteBook 8560w and 17.3 inch HP EliteBook 8760w Laptop Reviews

HP announced a new line up of its desktop replacement notebooks including the EliteBook 8760w, 8560w and 8460w models. These business laptops, or in HP's lingo Mobile Workstations, feature 2nd gen Intel Core i7 and i5 CPUs, AMD FirePro ro NVIDIA Quadro dedicated graphics with up to 4GB VRAM, up to 3 hard drives with RAID 5 support and a lot more.

Three new mobile workstations Laptop just announced by Hewlett-Packard, namely 17.3 inch HP EliteBook 8760w, 15.6-inch HP EliteBook 8560w and 14.0-inch HP EliteBook 8460w. This new Laptop building on HP’s “FORGE” design framework with a radial-brushed gunmetal finish, cast titanium-alloy display latches for enhanced durability and meet MIL STD 810G standart for vibration, high temperature, dust and drop. The HP EliteBook 8760w AC adapter, EliteBook 8560w and EliteBook 8460w notebooks is ideals solutions for users who need powerfull, portability and convenience of a laptop like engineering users, power-computing or content-creation customers.

Common features include Intel Core i7/i5 processor, up to 32GB of RAM, Self Encrypting HDD or Solid State Drives, USB 3.0, eSATA and WiFi. The laptop offer an 8-cell primary HP EliteBook 8760w battery, while the HP EliteBook 8460w offers 6- and 9-cell options for extended battery run time.

The top model, EliteBook 8760W, may also have an option on two HDDs or even three RAID 5 if you give up the optical drive. As far as video cards you can choose between different models for professional users, such as AMD FirePro M3900 with 1GB of dedicated DDR3 for the model Elitebook 8460W, and additionally for the other two of the most powerful AMD FirePro M5950 , always with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory, but the type or the NVIDIA Quadro 1000M and 2000M , respectively with 1 and 2 GB of DDR3.

It’s still not saying anything about the lightweight EliteBook 2560p and 2760p models that leaked out last month, but HP has now gotten official with three new slightly less portable laptops: the 14-inch EliteBook 8460w, 15.6-inch 8560w and 17.3-inch 8760w.

Debuted the new desktop-replacement HP EliteBook 8560W, 8760W and 8460W , specifically targeted to the professional sector and designed to perform the tasks more challenging and demanding power. The three models differ substantially in the diagonal of the display and some technical features that we will see shortly. The solutions adopted for the HP EliteBook 8760w charger chassis are common to all three handsets and is based on the design FORGE , which provides a first chassis engineered to be resistant and suitable for use in work environments like construction sites, while maintaining aesthetics designed.

The latter is expectedly on the top end when it comes to specs, with it boasting your choice of Sandy Bridge processors up to a Core i7-2920XM, either AMD FirePro or NVIDIA Quadro graphics with up to 4GB of memory, and up to three hard drives with RAID 5 support. The other two EliteBooks each dial things down a bit across the board, but you can still get up to a Core i7-2820QM on each of them, and there’s not even an option for integrated graphics.
