The awe-inspiring dell Inspiron series R started showing up well since its release on 15-Dec-2010 with its 14” (14 R), 15” (15R) and specifically with Dell Inspiron N7110 AC adapter which have taken hearts by its marvelous looks and outstanding performance. Dell definitely knew what they wanted for competing in the era of technology, they have sent a brave soldier, the N7110. The dell Inspiron is a landmark of class, higher than the others. Its inspiring architecture and the reliability makes it a perfect replacement for the desktop pc. Dell has stood up yet again with its Inspiron N7110 to challenge the competitors with a greater zeal. Dell N7110 has proven its name, “Inspiron”.

Dell Inspiron N7110 processor relies on Intel Core i5-2510M quad-core processor (clock speed at 2.3GHz) which is full-powered, standard-voltage processor, and based on Sandy Bridge technology. Its system is supported with 6GB of RAM. Nvidia GeForce GT 525M graphics chip with Optimus technology (which support to automatically switch into integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics chip if not used for energy saving) is resulting good performance in 3D gaming and other application. On PCMark Vantage testing, Dell Inspiron N7110 scores at 6,036. Since it supplied with big 9-cell Dell T114C battery, it can run up to 7 hours 51 minutes based on MobileMark 2007 tests. Those long battery life time can be considered top class.

Battery life lasted a whopping 7 hours 51 minutes on our MobileMark 2007 test, thanks to its 9-cell 90Wh battery. The automatic graphics switching technology from Nvidia , known as Optimus, also helped boost its battery life. The Optimus technology switches between the less power consuming integrated graphics for light productivity tasks and switches to the discrete GPU when needed for taxing graphics-intensive tasks, like gaming. In comparison, the Dell XPS 15 (Sandy Bridge), equipped with a 92Wh Dell Inspiron N7110 battery, lasted 6:58, and the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Thunderbolt) lasted a mere 4:40.

The Inspiron N7110's top model is standardly equipped with a 500 GB HDD. The installed Western Digital WDC WD5000BEVT-750RT0 doesn't belong to the fastest representatives with a speed of 5400 rpm. The sequential read and write rates are rather average with 67.75, respectively 63.43 MB/s. Good HDDs easily achieve more than 80 MB/s. State of the art SSDs can even achieve more than 300 MB/s. By the way: Amateurs shouldn't try to change the HDD. The removable (screwed) cover only allows accessing the RAM (two slots).

The basic Inspiron N7110 sports a black muted design (this option won't cost you any extra), but with Dell's innovative new SWITCH by Design Studio lids (exclusive to the Dell Inspiron R Series), you can change up your lid design for $34.99 more. There are numerous lid options, including Peacock Blue, Fire Red, or Lotus Pink (my personal favorite). To switch your lids, you just press a button on the backside of the lid that allows it to pop off. The Dell Inspiron N7110 charger is made of plastic, but the interior and exterior has a brushed look to it, giving it a more dynamic design.

For the storage media, Dell Inspiron N7110 relies on 500 GB (5,400rpm) HDD, although those storege is spacious enough to keeps your digital files, but other laptop is this category, offers larger space. While for optical drive, it equipped with Dual-Layer DVD+/-RW (not a blue ray). Ports given are: two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0, eSATA/ USB 2.0 combo, 3-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, MS), VGA port, HDMI port and WiDi 2.0. Dell Inspiron N7110 wireless connection features: Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. It also has a 1.0-megapixel HD webcam.

Performance in our 3D gaming tests was good. It scored 52.6 frames per second (fps) on Crysis (DirectX 10) and 36.8fps on Lost Planet 2 (DirectX 9) (both on Medium quality settings). At higher settings the Inspiron N7110 produced slower frame rates on Crysis (14.7fps) and Lost Planet (16.4fps). Its Nvidia GeForce GT 525M graphics chipset will certainly give you some 3D performance, provided you adjust your in-game settings accordingly.

The Inspiron N7110 is a typical multimedia laptop that doesn't allow itself to make many mistakes. At the same time, it doesn't really excel in any relation. Workmanship, keyboard, connectivity, performance and emissions are on about the normal standard. As most other manufacturers, Dell unfortunately uses a run of the mill display that will only suffice less demanding users. However, the smooth and pleasantly large touchpad has to be mentioned positively. Most laptops can only dream of that. The Dell T114C battery life also surpasses numerous opponents. The Inspiron N7110 can be used in many ways.

The keyboard and touchpad on this HP laptop is nothing but fantastic. In fact, they are even better than the HP DM1 E450 netbook that was reviewed few days back. While the HP 4431s notebook is not the most powerful notebook in the market, it is powerful enough for businessmen and college students. The Probook, like the U24e ran very quiet and generated very little heat which is rather intriguing since both of this HP QK646AA battery pack very powerful processors inside. The only thing not to like about this HP notebook is its low resolution 1366 x 768 pixel screen. This resolution is fine for a netbook with 11.6 inch display, but not for a business notebook. If screen resolution does not bothers you, you will love and appreciate its matte display that reflects very little glare back to the user.

  • Hard Drive Type : 500GB /7200 rpm SATA HDD
  • Optical Drive Type : 8x DVD+/- RW (Dual Layer) Drive
  • Networking : Modem (Optional) Gigabit Ethernet LAN (Integrated)
It is necessary for a high-end product Dell XPS L401X to feature versatile. XPS L401X uses a backlit keyboard and the user can turn on and off the backlight by hand. There are two options of backlight intensity.

Dell XPS L401X notebook weighs 3.435kg together with its battery and Dell XPS L401x AC adapter. As we all know, Dell XPS series notebook features relatively heavy, but acceptable as a gaming notebook, as a result, Dell XPS L401X notebook is not so convenient to carry for outdoor use.

XPS laptops are designed to be the loudest, clearest and cleanest laptops on the planet with built-in high-fidelity JBL speakers and Waves MaxxAudio technology. Together they produce rich, full sound that delivers booming bass and razor-sharp clarity to your favorite movies, music and games. Treat your ears to peak audio performance with the XPSs 6W JBL speakers. Then, layer in the Waves algorithms designed to deliver better dynamic range, frequency response and imaging with maximum transparency, clarity and natural sound.

The backlit keys aren't of the raised chiclet variety that we typically prefer, but the click action on the XPS L401x's keyboard was surprisingly snappy, rather than mushy like we expected it to be. We're still not fans of typing on notebook keys in general, however this is as good of a mobile keyboard as we've typed on. We were slightly bummed at not being able to change the color of the backlight.

Simply connect your laptop to your 3D-enabled TV and effortlessly project your favorite Blu-ray5 3D movies and 3D photo slideshows for a real-life theater experience. Then, bring your best games6 to life. Using the power of your HP PR08 battery and your 3D TV, you can step into an eye-popping 3D gaming experience right in your living room. All you need to harness the 3D power of your XPS L401x is a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cable, optional Blu-ray Disc™ drive, approved 3D-enabled TV and 3D media1.

This system is surrounded by two USB 2.0 ports, a USB / eSATA combo jack as well as HDMI, DisplayPort and ethernet sockets .There is also a headphone and headphone / mic port, but you'll definitely prefer listening to music through the speakers as they are mind blowing. It has got a DVD drive and a SD card slot live on the right edge. You can add a Blu-ray drive to the configuration too.

My WiFi enables people to share Internet access function. The reason why this Dell XPS L401X support MyWifi, mainly because the laptop has equipped with built-in Intel wireless card, which most of mainstream Intel wireless cards support MyWifi technology.

There were some good aspects to the design, though. For instance, idle Dell XPS L401x battery life improved 16% and Internet battery life went up 35%. (We noted in the L501x review that our Internet test did quite poorly, and it appears the L401x doesn’t suffer the same fate.) H.264 playback remains nearly the same at just under three hours. For gaming, the 768p resolution is also a better fit for the GT 420M GPU—1080p is simply too much for anything but low detail settings on most games without a faster GPU. The final benefit of course is the size and weight. Personally, 14” laptops are one of my favorite form factors in terms of combining a smaller size with a comfortable keyboard, reasonable display size, and HP PR08 battery life/portability. If the XPS L401x had offered a 1440x900 quality LCD upgrade, it would have been nearly “perfect” for mainstream use.

When Dell told us of its plans to revive its tried and true XPS laptop line we were pretty darn excited. Without a doubt, the Dell XPS L401X packs some extremely attractive features: the system's JBL speakers are some of the best ever put into a laptop, its Core i5 processor combined with NVIDIA GeForce GT400M provides seriously solid gaming and performance muscle, and its HD webcam captures crisp video and pictures.

The Intel Core i7 740QM processor is one of the high-end processor with advanced 45nm manufacturing process, the default clocked at 1.73GHz that can improved to 2.93GHz by (Turbo Boost) dynamic acceleration technology. Meantime, and be able to adjust 6MB three-level shared cache according to the actual load dynamic, and support Hyper-Threading technology with the maximum thermal design power of 90W Dell XPS L401x adapter.

Dell XPS L401x price in USA : Dell XPS L401x laptop price starts from $629. Dell XPS 14 is expected to be available in United States soon.

It gets 3 people because of the INCREDIBLE number of crapware it came complete of. After I washed it all out (which took hours) I got 20 function of my challenging take a holiday again. There is the choice, in the create function, HP Pavilion dm1-4010us Laptop PC when commencing, to recover to a fresh image with people & operating-system only – BUT it dropping three conditions. What a fun. What a spend of your power and attempt.HP Pavilion dm1-4010us Laptop PC On process, I will not be purchasing ANYTHING that HP pre set up.

It’s support HP QuickWeb and CyberLink YouCam DE software that allow the user to make video calling with your friends or colleagues. The machines will be starting ship in Japan on netx few days with price tag at 39,900 Yen and its also available in several country with HP Pavilion Dm1-4000 QD992UA that has starting price at $480.

The silver-painted hinges have enough tension to hold the screen in place, but the plastics surrounding the hinges “float” around the actual metal hinges themselves. The lid features a plain matte black paint job which keeps the outward appearance clean and professional. Opening up the screen, This was probably done so that the hinges won’t sustain a sharp impact if the laptop is dropped with the screen in the open position. However, the flexing plastics around the hinges don’t inspire the same confidence in build quality as the rest of the laptop.

This thin, lightweight machine combines some great features in an attractive package. One of the biggest problems facing laptop users today is the overheating of their machine. The HP Pavilion dm1-4010us comes complete with HP CoolSense technology. This feature will automatically regulate the temperature of your laptop while you’re using it away from a desk. The heat will be directed away from your lap, meaning that you can use the machine in comfort for longer.

HP Pavilion dm1-4010us takes onboard several hardware such as VISION E2 technology from AMD with AMD dual-core E-450 accelerated processor, the video graphics adopt AMD Radeon HD 6320 Discrete-Class Graphic that provides up to 1973MB total graphic memory. The memory RAM integrated is 4GB DDR3.

On the hardware side, there are very few changes: the previous model featured the AMD Fusion APU E-350, the new dm1-4010us will come in two flavors, one with the AMD E-300 (slower) and the other will run the AMD E-450 (faster). Models with Intel Core 2nd generation processors will launch later. AMD models also include the AMD Radeon HD integrated GPU.

The dm1's discrete-class AMD Radeon HD 6320 GPU returned a decent score of 2,650 on 3DMark06. While that's 230 points below the ultraportable average, it trounced the IdeaPad S205's ATI Mobility Radeon 6310 GPU (2,269) and the Aspire One's ATI Radeon HD 6250 GPU (1,630). The older dm1z scored 2,217. Those looking for a little gaming action on the go will find the dm1 fairly capable. When we ran a few quests in World of Warcraft with effects set to Good and at 1366 x 768p, the notebook notched a frame rate of 34 fps--nine points shy of the 43 fps average but still playable. The last-gen dm1 mustered 24 fps. On maximum settings, though, the new HP Pavilion DM1-4010us adapter only achieved 13 fps.

The 11.6-inch LED-backlit screen on the HP Pavilion dm1z is like most glossy screens we've seen on 11-inch notebooks and netbook alternatives. The 1366 x 768 resolution is fine for browsing the web, editing photos, or even watching 720p HD movies. Color and contrast are average thanks to the glossy surface and LED backlighting. We recorded a real-world contrast ratio of 216:1 in our lab and a maximum screen brightness of 226 nits; bright enough for indoor use under almost any artificial lights and bright enough for outdoor use (as long as the unfiltered sun isn't shining directly on your screen and creating reflections). If you tilt the screen forward or back, the colors start to look dim or very washed out. Horizontal viewing angles were better; staying visible until roughly 60 degrees.

If you're in the market for an 11-inch laptop that can fit on an airline tray table with room to spare, offers good HP Pavilion DM1-4010us battery life and delivers reasonably impressive performance, then the HP Pavilion dm1-4010us is the notebook for you.

Dell XPS L502X Overview

The Dell XPS L502X is the 15 inch model of Dell’s new line of “powerhouse” , multimedia laptops. Dell has really worked hard on the overall performance of this laptop and has targeted it to multimedia and gaming enthusiasts.

Dell recently updated its XPS L502X line to include the new Intel 2nd Generation Core i processors. This refresh makes the systems faster with an economical starting price of just $799. Depending on your level of gaming, an upgrade to a FullHD display and more advanced video card may be worth considering. In summary, the Dell XPS L502X is a great 15-inch notebook due to its portability, excellent audio quality, and overall value.

Although Dell also promotes the XPS line for its design, this notebook looks more serviceable than chic. It’s bulky, weighing in at 6.2 pounds, with one of the largest Dell XPS L502x AC adapter bricks I’ve ever seen. Along with the so-so Dell XPS L502x battery life, this makes the Dell XPS 15 L502X a poor candidate for frequent flyers. Its silvery aluminum chassis, including a slab-like lid with black accents, looks fairly generic, and its underside gets quite warm after extended use. The keyboard, while roomy and responsive, has no backlighting, and the touchpad seemed a bit slow to respond. The 1366 by 768 display, which is fine for video, could be a bit sharper and crisper when showing a screenful of text; Dell offers a couple of 1920 by 1080 display alternatives. You can get this same hardware in a sleeker, lighter, and more durable shell if you’re willing to pay a couple hundred dollars more for the Dell XPS 15 L502X.

The XPS L502X (Sandy Bridge)’s feature set is vast and arguably the most impressive in its class. It comes with 3 USB ports (two of which are USB 3.0, the other an eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port), DisplayPort, HDMI, and an HD Webcam. The Webcam, which allows you to shoot video in 720p, was the first for a laptop until the Apple 15-inch (Thunderbolt) included one of its own. Unlike the Apple 15-inch, this one is Skype-certified, which means you can video chat in high definition through Skype (You can only use the MacBook Pros Webcam in standard definition for video chatting on Skype; the HD resolution only works with its own Facetime client software). A Blu-ray drive , which is included in my review configuration, is ideal for watching Blu-ray movies in a full 1080p. You can also find a Blu-ray drive in the HP dv7-4283cl. Not only is the 750GB hard drive spacious, but at 7,200rpm, it also spins as fast as the one found in the Asus N53SV-A1 and HP dv7-4283cl. Alternatively, you can swap it out for a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), albeit for an obscene amount of money.

Our configuration came with a quad-core 2.0 GHz Intel Core i7 CPU 2630QM, costing $ 175 over the CPU core. This is one of the new Intel processors Sandy Bridge in 2011. In our benchmarks, the performance was excellent and much better than last year’s dual-core i5 – not surprising since it was a generation processor and an option to the lower end of the processor. But even against other laptops in 2011 with Sandy Bridge Intel next-gen, he more than held its own to make a significant jump in speed compared to last year’s Intel CPU. We drove several windows CPU-intensive tasks and experienced almost no slowdown, even slots blowing hot air from time to time.

XPS L502X is good enough for the stereo. Speakers and subwoofer ensure a low-mounted JBL sound incredibly powerful, precise. We were too heavy bass song is like listening RB, Forget-me-not, funk, and classics like Kool and the Gang Summer Madness, or classical music, such as Richard Strauss, Also Sprach Zarathustra, the sound was clear and true, even at the loudest maximum. In fact, listening to these songs, you hear a clear separation of instruments, plucking the bass line, do not forget me, Summer Madness Dell R795X battery.

The software package includes Dell uses a handful of applications that may or may not be useful, including PhotoStage image organizer, Cosi Family Calendar, Roxio Creator Starter (for burning DVDs and CDs), and Skype, and the now ubiquitous Microsoft Office 2010 Starter Edition (with advertising versions of Word and Excel).

It seems that, at least for now, you can't duplicate your desktop to a TV/projector using the HDMI output and the Fn+F1 options - can only extend. You can duplicate using the displayport output though, and so using a DP to HDMI Dell XPS L502x adapter. This may be fixed now, using beta drivers from Nvidia.

All this is due to its use of RGB LED backlights, rather than the white LEDs that most screens use. White LEDs are actually made up of a blue LED with yellow phosphor to make it appear white, but this leaves huge holes in the red and green parts of the spectrum. RGB LEDs make a purer white and render greens and reds far more accurately.

The latop is pretty bulky and heavy too , in my case its due to the 9 cell battery. But i think those who select a 6 cell will be slightly lighter.
The vents for the GPU/CPU is placed on the left side of the laptop , compare it to the old XPS , which are behind the screen and sometimes a fully opened screen can partly block the vents , also there was big fan on the bottom , making the exhaust of hot air pretty complicated. But New XPS overcomes these problems in grand style. The vent is on the left side and there is only one 3.0 USB port , so unless you stick a big wireless device or receiver that sort on the left side ,the exhaust are pretty much open and big to push out chunk of hot air.

The reason I get into the above is two-fold: first, it illustrates a design flaw and the difficulty of upgrading the hard drive/SSD. The other item to note is that the entire top cover is made of somewhat flimsy plastic, which feels more like Inspiron quality than XPS quality. The frame on the XPS line may be solid, but the actual shell around the frame is plastic and definitely not as sturdy as Dell’s Latitude line. I’d really prefer to see the XPS line go slightly more upscale—bump the price up $50 to $100 and give us a consumer chassis that feels like it will last. Or there’s the new Alienware M11x/M14x that might fill that niche, but aesthetics are still a matter of opinion and plenty of people dislike the bling that’s present on Alienware’s offerings.

Although Dell also promotes the XPS L502X line for its design, this notebook looks more serviceable than chic. It's bulky, weighing in at 6.2 pounds, with one of the largest AC adapter bricks I've ever seen. Along with the so-so Dell XPS L502x battery life, this makes the XPS 15 L502X a poor candidate for frequent flyers. You can get this same hardware in a sleeker, lighter, and more durable shell if you're willing to pay a couple hundred dollars more for the XPS 15z.

The new Dell XPS has the same set of ports we saw in the XPS L502X back in November, and that's OK, since those ports already were pretty up-to-date. Though the XPS lacks an ExpressCard slot, it comes with two USB 3.0 ports, an optional TV tuner (included on our config), and HDMI 1.4 with Nvidia 3DTV Play, allowing playback of 3D games or Blu-ray content onto a 3D HDTV via an HMDI cable. You'll need a 3D TV to even take advantage of this feature, of course, and we doubt many people will.

At $1,488, the Dell XPS L502X with Intel's second-generation Core i7 processor offers blistering performance, strong graphics, and stellar video and audio playback. If you don't plan on moving your notebook much, the larger Dell XPS 17 offers a 3D 17-inch display, the same great audio, and similar specs for the slightly lower cost of $1,474. And if you're looking for a more portable machine with longer Dell R795X battery life--and are willing to spend more--get the $1,799 15-inch MacBook Pro. Overall, though, those looking for a powerful 15-inch multimedia machine at a reasonable price should put the XPS 15 at or near the top of their shopping list.

Review of HP Envy 14

The HP Envy 14 aims to compete with the Apple MacBook, so the 14-inch model has a slick metal chassis and backlit keyboard. Our test rig was configured with a 14.5-inch ‘edge to edge’ 720p 1366 x 768 resolution display. The Envy 14 is driven by an Intel Core i5-2410M 2.3GHz dual-core processor. There is a whopping 6GB 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM and a hefty AMD Radeon HD 6330M 1GB graphics card. The max RAM capacity stretches to 8GB. Storage is a 750GB 7200rpm WD hard drive. There’s WiFi-n and Bluetooth 3, and a Skype-certified 720p HD webcam. The OS is Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. The price is a quite reasonable $1079.
Specifications:
  • 14.5-inch "margins" of glass display at 720p (1366x768 resolution)
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5-2410M dual-core processor (2.3 GHz to 2.9 GHz Turbo Boost, 3MB cache, 35W TDP)
  • Intel HM65
  • AMD Radeon HD 6330M graphics w / 1 GB of GDDR3 dedicated video
  • Graphics are automatically switched to the Intel integrated graphics
  • 6 GB of RAM DDR3-1333 (1x4GB + 1 x 2 GB, expandable to 8GB - 2 x 4 GB)
  • 750GB 7200RPM Western Digital hard drive (WD7500BPKT)
  • Intel ® Centrino ® Advanced-N 6230 wireless card
  • Internal Bluetooth 3.0
  • Skype Certified webcam Integrated High Definition 720p
  • Built-in slot-loading DVD burner (DVD-RAM UJ897 HP)
  • 2 year limited warranty
  • 8-cell Li-Ion (14.8V, 3800mAh)
  • Weight: 5.69 kg.
  • Dimensions: 14.01 x 9.33 x 1.16 ~ 1.18 inches
The 14.5-inch, 1,600 x 900-resolution display is a breath of fresh air compared to the laptops we've recently reviewed. Not only is the resolution better than the 1366 x 768 displays we've been staring at lately, but the quality of the HP Envy 14 battery is miles better than the others HP's used lately. A lot of that has to do with the HP Radiance Infinity LED panel, which was also on the Envy 13. The 350nit display has a higher color gamut than other displays, and you notice the difference upon first boot -- even the blue of the Windows Start button sticks out more than on other screens. Viewing the Tron: Legacy trailer was a pretty stunning experience with the blue glowing lasers appearing extremely detailed. Even better when we tilted the screen backwards, we were still able to make out Garrett Hedlund's face, and similarly when we moved to the size of the screen we could the moving images. It always feel good to take a break from complaining about poor LCDs and viewing angles. We do have to say the display is rather glossy, and when turned off it could have your mirror worried about losing its job.

With its laser-etched aluminum lid and keyboard deck, the HP Envy 14 is a definite looker. The etching results in a pattern of Dell T116C battery small squares, which adorn the lid and wrist rest. It’s an understated yet interesting design point, and the etching also serves to repel fingerprints and smudges. The aluminum used on the lid and keyboard deck is a dark silver color, and light-silver brushed aluminum is used on the sides, presenting a pleasing contrast.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit comes pre-installed. Other notable perks include a full-size island-style backlit keyboard and Beats Audio. Earlier this summer HP expanded their popular Envy notebook line with the introduction of the Envy 14 and Envy 17 models. The two new releases build on the success of last year's Envy offerings and bring several new hardware options to the table as well as a lower introductory price point. Today we will look at the smaller 14-inch version.

On the ergonomics front, the HP Envy 14 battery Beats Edition holds up reasonably well and the keyboard is mostly a pleasure to use. The soft-touch palm-rests ensure your hands rest very comfortably. Feedback is just a hair away from being too shallow, yet the large matte keys nevertheless offer a positive click and are well-spaced. Layout is spot-on too, though experienced users may dislike the F-Function keys being secondary to their multimedia functions. Still, this is fast becoming the norm and can be changed in the BIOS.

That’s not entirely a compliment. While generally a pleasurable experience, some additional key travel and crisper feedback would be of benefit. There’s also some keyboard flex evident even under light use, which is easily noticed due to the top-notch feel of everything else on the HP Envy 14.

Stuck inside the Envy 14 is an Intel Core i7-Q720 processor running at 1.6GHz paired up with 4GB of RAM. That chip doesn't have the fastest speed in the industry, but the quad cores should lend a good helping-hand with the more intense tasks. The processor can handle speeds up to 2.8GHz though so if you know what you're doing, you could probably overclock it to get a bit more power. We didn't tell you to do it though.

The laptop still does not have VGA port. However, you can consider an HDMI to VGA cord which is available from HP at $50. Blu-ray option is not integrated on the 14-inch system due to which customers have to opt for Envy 17. HP has improved its single-buttoned ClickPad without ruining the rest of the experience with this HP Envy 14 adapter, but the issues are yet to resolve completely. The most important problem is the cursor which losses control and jumps all over the screen when the thumb reaches to the left line of the mouse accidentally.

Sporting a 2.3-GHz Intel Core i5-2410M processor and 6GB of RAM, the Envy 14 performed admirably, posting-above average results on many of our benchmarks. Taking full advantage of the Beats Audio technology under the hood, the Envy 14 has loud, crisp speakers that easily fill a small room. Despite the badging they are not overwhelmingly better than most notebook speakers; bass is sorely lacking and their placement under the palm rest means muffled sound while typing.

The Envy 14 allows you to switch between graphics environments—integrated (Intel) and discrete (ATI Mobility Radeon 5650). Switching between the two is not as seamless as with Nvidia's Optimus technology, which is used by laptops like the ID49C13u and the U41JF-A1. But having complete control of the graphics switch isn't bad either. The switch is done using ATI's utility, which is accessible by right clicking the desktop and selecting "Configure Graphics." The laptop also defaults to Intel's integrated graphics when the HP Envy 14 AC adapter is unplugged. Its 3DMark06 score (7,438) wasn't as impressive as that of the Asus U41JF-A1, but it made up ground in highly-intense games like Lost Planet 2 (37.4 fps) and Crysis (56.5 fps). In other words, the Envy 14 is viable gaming laptop.

All In all, I’m really happy with the HP Envy 14. Its a neat and sturdy laptop, with a solid set of easily configurable software. The screen is magnificent, performance is great, while staying fairly cool and rather silent if you ask me.

The HP Envy 14 impresses in a number of areas including build quality, design, and performance. It is a very fun wolf in sheep's clothing laptop.

Dell XPS 14z Laptop Review

Dell is one of the finest notebook manufacturers across the globe. Durability and reliability are the major factors that pulls the crowd towards Dell products. To cope up with changing trend of ultrabooks, Dell introduced XPS 14z in May this year. This 14-inch laptop throws light on the new era of computing with an authoritative i7 core processor and 8GB RAM. When you compare it with a MacBook Pro of 13-inch, you will be definitely pleased with the sophisticated switchable Nvidia graphics.

There are other configurations to choose from, culminating in a $1,600 model that includes an Intel Core i7 2640M (2.8GHz) processor, 8GB of DDR3-1333 memory, 256GB SSD, and Nvidia GT 520M graphics with 1GB of video memory. All other specs remain the same. XPS laptops are designed to be the loudest, clearest and cleanest Dell V79Y0 battery on the planet with built-in high-fidelity JBL speakers and Waves MaxxAudio® technology. Together they produce rich, full sound that delivers booming bass and razor-sharp clarity to your favorite movies, music and games.

Dell XPS 14z Specs:
  • Choice between Intel Core i5 and Dual Core i7 processor
  • NVIDIA graphics with NVIDIA Optimus technology
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M
  • Dual channel 6GB DDR3 up to DDR3 1333Mhz 8GB memory
  • 500GB up to 750GB Harddisk (7200RPM ) along with 256GB SSD drive option
  • Spill-resistant keyboard(Chiclet, Backlit)
  • Battery life up to 6 hours and 42 minutes (8-cell Dell XPS 14z battery)
  • Webcam – built-in 1.3MP HD
  • Audio – dual array digital microphones along with stereo speakers
  • Wireless connectivity – Bluetooth 3.0
  • Network – built-in Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 802.11 A/G/N
  • USB 3.0 (1), Mini Display-Port, USB 2.0 (1)
Dell is launching its XPS 14z, a thin, gorgeous, full-featured notebook that brings to mind the old Adamo. It’s meant to be a rock-star notebook for rock-star professionals who buy their own PCs and use them at work—just like many of us have been doing with our smartphones for years. And while we tested the base unit (minus 2GB of RAM), we see enough raw talent here to pass it through to the next round and recommend it for the rock stars among you.

Still, what impressed us during the tests we’ve conducted were the following awesome features: Nvidia Graphics, the 14-inch screen and an optical drive and all these in a smaller package, equivalent to a 13-inch laptop. Similar to most of the other great devices out there, it has a starting price of $999 (this price is for the version which has integrated Intel graphics), the version that we have tested also had Nvidia 520M graphics, an upgraded Intel Core i7 CPU and a HDD of 750GB ; the price of this configuration was $1,299.

The fact that 14" seems to be the new 15" comes the release of the XPS 14z. The XPS 14z takes its style from the 15z we reviewed back in July and packs as much of the performance into the smaller chassis as is possible, giving us some extra features over the Inspiron 14" model.

Regular travelers will want a sizeable hard drive for carrying their entire media collection around, and this laptop doesn’t disappoint, packing in 500GB of storage. The drive spins at 7200rpm, faster than the standard 5400rpm, so software loads quickly and movies stream perfectly. The slender body also houses a slot-loading optical drive, so you can watch DVDs and install games from disc.

In everyday use, the 14z was incredibly comfortable to type on thanks to a spacious backlit QWERTY keyboard. In bright light, we preferred to keep the backlight switched off, as the combination of grey keys and white LEDs made it difficult to read, but in a dark room they worked incredibly well. The keys themselves are mostly full-size and sensibly spaced apart from one another. There’s enough spring in each key that we could type for long periods without getting uncomfortable, and although there isn’t a separate numerical keypad, we didn’t find it a major issue.

Just like the 15z, the 14z sports a gorgeous aluminium and magnesium chassis that mimics Apple’s unibody aesthetic. The lid and laptop’s base are single pieces of milled grey aluminium, while the palm area and keyboard surround are a darker magnesium. This doesn’t feel as cold to the touch and is a slightly softer metal, making for a more pleasant typing experience, and also helps to keep the weight down. The only plastic parts are the keyboard keys and screen surround, though the latter is protected by a single glass sheet that gives a seamless display impression.

Inside the case Dell has included a 58-Wh lithium ion Dell XPS 14z battery, which is screwed in but can still in principle be exchanged. In combination with the energy consumption, as described above, we get a maximum expected battery life of around 6.5 hours (tested with the Battery Eater Reader’s test, minimum display brightness, WLAN off, energy-saving profile). With realistic day-to-day usage, for example when surfing the net, a battery run-time of around 5 hours can be expected.

The configuration of the XPS 14z is perfect for anyone who requires lots of grunt from a small and reasonably inexpensive package. It features an Intel Core i7-2640M CPU, which has a speed of 2.8GHz, two cores plus Hyper-Threading. It's joined by 8GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M graphics Dell XPS 14z  AC adapter (with Optimus switching technology) and a 7200rpm, 750GB hard drive (WD7500BPKT-75PK4T0).

With so many extremely thin 13-inch laptops hitting the streets right now, such as the first generation of Ultrabooks from Acer, Lenovo, and Asus, the XPS 14z has roughly the same length and width measurements, but looks chunky and thick in comparison.

The screen is covered by edge-to-edge glass, which looks extremely smart. For one thing, it makes the bezel look thinner – at the side it’s 1cm thick, but with the glass covering most of that and melding seamlessly into the panel it looks like a lot less. During testing we got excellent Dell V79Y0 battery life when browsing and typing with the screen at half-brightness. With light to moderate use we saw between four and six hours of life - impressive for a laptop of this performance, and again adds to its claim of being a portable machine.

Speaking of the LCD panel, we hit the one area where I truly feel Dell misses the mark. We’ve noted in the past that the XPS line is supposed to be more of a premium brand than Dell’s Inspiron line, and part of that comes from the improved materials and build quality. What really sold us on the XPS 15 and later the XPS 15z was the availability of a 1080p high-contrast LCD in place of the standard 1366x768 panel. Really, that was the difference between a decent laptop and an Editors’ Choice award. At least for the time being, the Dell XPS 14z power adapter only has one display option available, and sadly it is not high contrast, high color, nor high quality. In short, it’s a display that would be right at home in an Inspiron, and that’s a shame. If Dell added an option for a higher quality 1440x900 (or even 1600x900) panel, we might be back into Editors’ Choice territory.

This notebook picked up the pace during the LAPTOP File Transfer Test, duplicating 4.97GB of multimedia files in 2 minutes and 12 seconds for a rate of 38.6 MBps, easily surpassing the 27.3 MBps thin-and-light average. The HP Envy 14 notched 33 MBps, while the MacBook Pro scored 28.1 MBps.

Our only issues with the design are the stiff lid hinges, which to be fair at least keeps the screen still when you're on rocky public transport. The screen only tilts 45 degrees back from vertical, so finding a comfortable viewing angle can be tricky when the XPS 14z is resting on your laptop.

The HP spill-resistant keyboard is designed using a thin layer of Mylar film under the keyboard and a drain system that funnels fluid through a hole in the bottom of the notebook. This minimizes the risk of damage to sensitive components underneath. The 101/102-key compatible keyboard features a full-pitch key layout with desktop keyboard features, such as the isolated inverted-T cursor control keys, editing keys, both left and right control and alt keys, and 12 function keys. The HP ProBook 4420 has a clean and professional looks with metal brushed cover and a plastic body. ProBook comes in dark bronze and copper shades. Even the screen, palmrest and speaker grill has the brushed metal covers. The surface has a shiny black plastic finish which adds more style to this notebook. The build quality is excellent and it is sturdy when compared to its previous generation. The 4420 is also light weighted as it weighs 2.2kg so it can be easily carried around. It measures 13.23×9.15×1.07 inches. It is not easy to rip open the notebook to swap components so if the user has to access the processor or memory one has to dismantle everything.

The HP USB 2.0 Docking Station uses universal USB technology to pass through critical signals such as video, LAN and peripheral connectivity (keyboard, mouse, printer). No need for a CD, this docking station has flash memory that stores installation-ready software drivers.

The Pros: Good all around business machine - quality components and build for an affordable price. HDMI output. Beautiful aluminum body - a step up from the previous generation 4410s' plastic enclosure.

The Cons: Crappy touchpad presents more issues than it's worth. No TrackPoint (nub / nipple mouse emulation). Features a 16:9 display - lacks the additional vertical resolution of a 16:10 display, poor for internet browsing and productivity applications, not suitable on a business laptop.

The HP ProBook s-series brags new multimedia controls for video and comes loaded with latest ArcSoft TotalMedia Suite to allow users to play, edit and create video and audio files.

HP Power Assistant lets you take control with total visibility over your notebook's reported power consumption! This easy-to-use tool allows you to conserve power, stretch HP ProBook 4420s battery run-time, accurately monitor your reported power needs and report workforce power consumption.

For many laptop users, style is just as important as substance. Luckily, the ProBook s series has plenty of both! All four ProBook models being released in April are wrapped in brushed aluminum. On top of that, two colors are available: Caviar (brown) and Bordeaux (red). MacBook Pro lovers, eat your hearts out.

ProBook is attainable in dark bronze and copper shades. every The screen, palm Rest and speaker grill contains the brushed metallic covers. the surface has a sparkly dark plastic substance finish which adds even more fashion To stuff like this notebook. The solid is super which HP VH08 battery is durable on comparison To its earlier generation. things like this laptop could come to be a small-priced 17-inch partnership laptop founded how to provide companies utilizing a excellent desktop substitute laptop via no basic as for Breaking the bank. this is as benchmark a warm or hot environment all on The various other HP Laptops or notebooks should be.

This generation of HP ProBook 4420s charger forgoes glossy, fingerprintastic lids, replacing them with rigid, brushed aluminum ones. The colors, fancily named, include Bordeaux, a burgundy color, and Caviar, a deep chocolate brown. These notebooks also have trackpads with integrated touch buttons, a-la the MacBook Pro line and the ill-fated Envy 15. To fit the work-play model, the keyboard’s function keys now include multimedia shortcuts.

As far as I know, the new HP notebook is endowed with the latest Technology 5.0 of Graphics Dynamic Video Memory. As for its operating system, this HP ProBook 4420s is installed with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional. In addition, in terms of its processor, the HP notebook is powered with Dual Core processor of Intel Core i3 370M at 2.4 GHz.

The HP ProBook 4420s laptop comes preinstalled with Windows Vista or Windows 7 as the primary operating system, depending on the model or version of the HP ProBook 4420s battery one buys. But, not all users are always comfortable with these operating systems. In addition, business policies may require a change to an open source operating system that does not require renewal or purchase of licenses.

It is reported that the new HP ProBook 4420s notebook computer is going to be available for purchase at the price tag of about $608.99 in United States. However, there are no more other detail features about the new HP notebook. Please stay tuned for its latest news

The display sports a wide design with an impressive 16:9 aspect ratio for a wider visual field and has touch screen functionality. A vast array of connectivity options including Bluetooth, a 9-in-1 card reader and Wi-Fi increase the model's versatility, whilst innate features such as a 2.0 mega pixel web camera emphasises functionality. A robust 5 hour Dell XPS L702X battery life and a compact design suitable for use on the go puts the DELL XPS L702x 17" Touch Screen Laptop in a class of its own.
Specifications:
  • 17.3" Full HD 3D +WLED (1920X1080)
  • Intel Core I7 2720QM (2.2GHz)
  • 6GB (1x2GB & 1X4GB)
  • 1000GB (2x500GB SATA)
  • 8x DVD+/-RW
  • Microsoft Windows 7 PRO 64bit
  • N 1030 (B,G,n) & Bluetooth
  • Backlit Keyboard
  • 2.0 MP Pixel Intergrated Camera
  • Nividia GeForce GT 555TM 3GB
  • Microssoft Office Starter 2010
  • 9-cell 90WHr Li-Ion Dell JWPHF battery
The Dell XPS 17 L702x 3D Laptop features a 17-inch 3D LCD otherwise LCD display with Multi-Touch capability, HDMI connector, USB 2.0 ports, and up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM. 3D on your screen. Sweet graphics. Killer sound. Truly your own personal 3D theater. Dell offers the highest quality 3D experience you can get with an optional full high-definition (1080p) resolution 3D plus active shutter technology. Not always in 3D? No problem. The full high-definition panel provides an amazing 2D experience in 1080p.

Every Dell XPS L702X computer below is a Laptop style computer which means it is portable and has a monitor, keyboard and mouse pad built in. Laptops are also sometimes called Notebooks. Each Dell XPS L702X Laptop computer has been given an overall PC Checker score based on the components it is built with so even if you know nothing about computers you can see our overall grade for each Dell XPS L702X AC adapter.

The high emission rates are the XPS L702X's greatest shortcomings, just like in the previous model. The case fan whirrs very audibly, and likely already annoying for some users, during high load. To fully indulge into a game you either need a high speaker level or even better a headset. The 17 incher works a lot quieter in less resource demanding tasks, such as office or Internet. However, the fan's behavior gives reason for complaint.

Dell's sometimes-confusing array of in-house consumer brands has been thankfully whittled down to three, and there's a clear enough delineation between them to make choosing a Dell laptop (or at least a starting point) a simple equation. Dell's XPS L702X 3D is for those who want a powerful media and gaming 17-inch laptop, but in a more aesthetically upscale package than offered by Dell's Alienware brand.

A feature that may position the Dell XPS as an alternative to the one with the glowing Apple logo is the use of aluminium finishing. This is more so with the top of the lid and the bezel around the keyboard area. As well. it is a well-built computer with a sense of quality in the manufacture of the unit. Side vent grille helps keep the laptop computer running cool. This machine doesn’t get too hot too easily through normal use. It has been brought about through a Dell XPS L702X battery that has a flange that places the computer on a slight angle, a large vent on the left side as well as some venting at the bottom of the unit.

Now I suppose I should probably talk about the performance then. I chose the i5-2510m (2.3-2.9 GHz) + 4GB ram (I imaging most people chose the i7). I didn't really need the quad core so there wasn't much point spending extra on it. I haven't been running any demanding photo editing software, but it's coped well with everything i've done so far. I opened up about 10 random programmes at once, and it mannaged to finish in around 20 seconds.

It’s growing on me, but i think it could be better. I like the back light. Problem with the keyboard being a full keyboard is it means centre of the keyboard is off centre, which means i tend to have the laptop shifted out to my right. Given how much space there is I think Dell could have done better with keyboard options, such as offer a comfort curve option.

The graphics card does a decent jobs with games, achieving a framerate of 68fps in the FEAR tests at Maximum quality settings. The screen is also impressive, with a full-HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. Supported by a BD-ROM/DVD±RW combo drive the movie-watching experience offered by the Dell is first class.

With full resolution, there is no need to scale down resolution or remove information to fit the panels. And at 120 frames per second (FPS) (60 FPS right and left), a full resolution image (1920 x 1080 pixels each) is displayed at full frame rate in each eye. Active shutter technology gives you a wider viewing angle of Dell JWPHF battery, meaning you don’t need to be in a “sweet spot” to see the content in 3D. Compared to passive polarized technology, active shutter also has better image quality because of higher resolution and reduction in ghosting or doubled images.

The XPS L702X pre-installed with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. With the 64 bit OS installed, the OS will be able to recognise more than 4GB of system memory installed on the laptop. I would suggest that one uninstall all unecessary programmes from Dell. It also comes with Microsoft Office Starter 2010 and it is good enough for the average consumer.

The connection is not left with Display Port, HDMI, Wi-Fi, audio ports, Ethernet and 4 USB combo with 1 e-SATA and two USB 3.0 so file transfers are made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 devices with USB 3.0. Finally, keep in mind with its size and weight, this Dell XPS L702X charger is still willing to use more sedentary nomad.

Review of HP EliteBook 2740p

As a notebook, the thin, light HP EliteBook 2740p PC fits big performance into its small case, but that's not all. You can rotate the display to shift it into tablet mode. A pressure-sensitive stylus can do sketches on screen, or you can point with up to two fingers, enabling multitouch gestures. And this EliteBook supplies nearly every other expected feature, making it a versatile work machine for any portable situation.

HP EliteBook 2740p Specifications:
  • Screen: 12.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) UWVA LED Backlit Multitouch (Matte finish)
  • Operating System: Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-540M (2.53GHz, 3MB Cache)
  • Memory: 4GB DDR3 RAM (2GB + 2GB)
  • Storage: 250GB Toshiba 1.8" HDD (5400rpm)
  • Wireless: Intel 6200 802.11AGN, Bluetooth
  • Graphics: Intel GMA HD Integrated Graphics
  • Power: 44Wh primary battery, 46Wh slice battery, 65W 20V AC adapter
  • Dimensions: 11.42 x 8.35 x 1.25"
  • Weight: 3.93lbs
  • Retail Price: $1,699
The 12.1 inch, 1200 by 800 pixel maximum resolution machine is powered by an intel core i5 M540 processor that works at a robust speed of 2530 MHz. It comes with integrated graphics chipset also from intel. The HP EliteBook 2740p battery comes equipped with a pre -installed 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz memory. The storage is in the form of a single 250 GB hard disk drive that speeds at 5400 RPM. The other storage facilities in the armour are an SD/ Multimedia Card and an SDHC Card. HP also throughs in an Express Card 54 into the deal.

It's fun to zoom in and out of images and play with the toys of Windows 7's Touch Pack, but in the absence of everyday touch-enabled applications like those of HP's TouchSmart consumer PCs, tablet PCs depend on in-house apps for vertical industries such as healthcare. The EliteBook 2740p's mix of precise stylus and breezy touch input makes it an outstanding platform for development and deployment of such apps.

The 2740p bristles with ports and switches. On the left side you'll find the storage hole for the stylus, an SD flash card slot, an ExpressCard slot, FireWire and USB 2.0 ports, and an on/off switch for Wi-Fi. The Core i5's integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD graphics fall short of satisfying hardcore gamers, but are more than quick enough for HP EliteBook 2740p AC adapter and image-editing applications. We saw a score of 1,902 in 3DMark06 and 3.5 fps in the Heaven benchmark.

The 2740p may be targeted at enterprise customers – who’ll appreciate its MIL-STD 810G compliant vibration, dust, humidity, altitude and temperature resilience and chemically-strengthened glass display panel – but there’s plenty for consumers to like too.

While the predecessor models adopted Ultra Low Voltage and Low Voltage CPUs with correspondingly weak performance, the current revision has not had to make any compromises with respect to performance, and contains a regular Core i5-540M CPU with integrated Intel HD graphics in the tested model. This HP ProBook 4510s  battery belongs to the current Arrandale family and contains performance enhancing features such as Turbo Boost (2.53 - 3.06 GHz clock speed) and Hyper-Threading (simultaneous processing of 4 threads). The whole package is completed with a 2500 MHz fast FSB and a 3 MB large L3 cache. The TDP lies at 35 Watts, which already includes the graphics unit and the memory controller, contrary to the predecessor models.

If your design sensibilities lean toward clean and uncluttered, the EliteBook 2740p will disappoint. Since all buttons need to be accessible in either laptop or tablet mode, out of necessity the sides are chock full of ports, buttons, and toggle switches. On the front edge, you’ll find the large latch to release the screen, a latch to open the swing-out WWAN antenna (on models with that $125 option), and the sliding power switch. Move to the right side, and you’ll find buttons to launch HP QuickWeb and HP QuickLook (more on those in a minute), a headset jack, a SmartCard slot, two USB ports, and a modem jack.

While the Elitebook 2740p is not a rugged machine, it is definitely durable thanks to a magnesium-alloy enclosure, chemically-strengthened glass in front of the LCD, and goodies like HP DuraKeys and 3D DriveGuard. HP claims MIL-STD-810F testing compliance in several areas (dust, altitude, high temperature, etc.) without offering specifics.

The EliteBook 2740p offers an average port selection, including three USB 2.0 ports, VGA-out, LAN, Firewire 400, modem and a headset jack. The tablet also features a SmartCard reader, SDHC-card reader, and an ExpressCard/34 slot for expansion. Users looking to connect to a wide array of peripherals will enjoy the docking connector included on the system, which even passes through the extended slice HP EliteBook 2740p battery.

There are many components to the 12-inch widescreen. It swivels 180 degrees to cover or expose the full size keyboard. The Wacom-enabled screen, plus the digitized pen, which is stored in the back of the unit, can take advantage of Windows 7's handwriting recognition engine. You can use the pen to navigate as you would with a mouse, or simply press a finger (or two) against the screen, as the display now supports multitouch. The numerous touch gestures—pinch, zoom, scroll—worked as beautifully as they did on the HP EliteBook 2740p charger and Fujitsu T5010. It helps, too, that they all use the same touch components, except the other two tablets have brighter screens. Frankly, it felt like the 2740p's screen was several brightness levels short of looking as illuminated as the Lenovo X200 Tablet and Fujitsu T5010. It was on the cusp of looking washed out, especially under a bright light or outdoors. An outdoor display is available as an option, but it won't support touch.

While the 2740p is the furthest thing from a gaming notebook, we were pleasantly surprised when it reached 59 frames per second when playing World of Warcraft (at 1024 x 768). That dropped to a measly 11 fps at native resolution. Intel’s Graphics Media Accelerator HD paced the machine to a well-above-average 3DMark06 score of 1,903, 400 better than the X201 Tablet. Flyovers in Google Earth were fast, and the laptop played a 720p YouTube trailer of the movie 2012 without any hiccups.

The EliteBook models are HP's attempt to combine business features with both style and sturdiness. The 2740p takes the great pen experience of previous EliteBook tablets and adds the performance of a full-voltage Core i5 processor, plus the convenience (and sheer fun) of touch. There are a lot of nice-to-have touches like the card scanner and keyboard light, but you wouldn't buy the 2740p to get them and you're certainly paying for everything you get. Budget for the extended Dell Studio 1745 battery (or a second standard battery) or you'll be disappointed. But if you need a tablet PC that gives you the input options of tablet and the power of a real PC that you can use as your main system, and that combination is worth this kind of money to you, the EliteBook 2740p very nearly has it all.

After a very long wait, I finally received my new company laptop this past week, which is a very fast Dell Precision M4600. This particular unit has the 2.3GHz Core i7-2820QM quad-core processor, with 8MB of L3 cache. It uses Turbo Boost 2.0 to increase the clock speed to 3.4GHz. There is one slightly faster processor available, which is the 2.5GHz Core i7-2920XM Extreme quad-core with 8MB of L3 cache. The Extreme i7-2920XM processor is roughly 5-10% faster than the i7-2820QM, yet it costs slightly over twice as much, and it requires more power, so I don’t think it makes sense for a laptop.

Moving on to battery of M4600, we could use the laptop for a variety of tasks for about 3 hours on a single charge, which wasn’t that great when comparing this device to others. But what we liked about the 97Wh Dell Precision M4600 battery was the fact that it didn’t make this product heavier than it already was.

Well, if you need to know what is my story is. I’m happy to tell you about it. First I order my new laptop from dell this may 18, 2011 and order went through just fine. Dell representation called me to confirm my order is legitimate, everything went through just fine. Microsoft came along and offers a back to school program for any students who purchase a new computer with windows 7 with a valid .edu email or a student id. I have both, so apply the campaign on Dell University and received a promotional code from dell. I called dell to receive my offer with my new dell laptop that is in process of doing something that some pre-production (meaning not start yet). A representative said surely, but I need to cancel my previous order and put in a new order with the new Xbox 360 bundle together. Surely, if you the way to do, go ahead to do it, everything when fine.

The M4600 is a thick, heavy laptop. Chances are if you're shopping for a mobile workstation, you already know this is pretty much a given for the category. The starting weight is 6.2 pounds plus about a pound for the large power brick; add-ins and extras can drive that up to more than a 9-pound travel weight. Made from an aluminum and magnesium alloy, Dell Precision M4600 AC adapter inconspicuous design should be suitable for just about any environment. It's basically just a big rectangle with rounded corners. The chassis is MIL-STD-810G-tested for extreme temperatures, humidity, vibration, dust, altitude, and shock, and it certainly feels sturdy. Well, except for the left side of the screen bezel on our review sample, which was pulling away slightly from the cover.

Dell’s Precision M4600 is a stout contender, with its mil-spec resistance to the elements and aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis. Of course you have the latest Intel Sandy Bridge platform, with Core i5 processors coming standard. A standout spec that you won’t find in consumer notebooks is the inclusion of four DIMM slots, compared to the two one usually gets. This allows for a maximum of 32GB of DDR3 RAM, if you were to spring for the pricey 8GB modules that are now available.

Battery life is fortunately very well when using a moderate during the execution of tasks with a low load, with very high capacity Dell FV993 battery. In Battery Eater Reader's test (minimum brightness of the screen, the battery life up to Dell, all wireless modules disabled), we achieved a maximum range of 646 minutes.

The Precision M4600 15.6 inch notebook and Precision M6600 17.3 inch notebook also equipped with two USB 3.0 port, one combination USB 2.0 and eSATA, two USB 2.0 port, DisplayPort, VGA, and HDMI port to connect with external monitor. Dell Precision M4600 and Dell Precision M6600 Workstations Laptop is expected will be release on May 10, but yet not exposed its pricing information.

Performance with the Dell Precision M4600 was very impressive, but still not the top of the line (but not too far off). It well-outdid what we'd call the category average for Dell Precision M4600 charger, mostly thanks to the speedier CPU option as well as the discrete, non-integrated graphics. You'll find no problems with multitasking and doing CPU-intensive tasks with this computer, which makes it a definite contender for users who want impressive performance and customizability, but also have the money to pay for it.

The maximum temperature of 49.7 °C on the base plate of the case of the Dell Precision M4600 battery after one hour of full load may be a little warm, but this won't cause concern on a desk. Depending on the requirements it is possible to use preconfigured power plans from Dell, which provide for an especially cool case (clock speed reduction to maximum 1.8 GHz) or Ultra Performance (maximum cooling level). As already previously mentioned in the section on performance, there was no thermal throttling at any point detected by us. When carrying out tasks with little load the temperatures with a maximum of 33.8 °C are significantly lower, and even allow for using the notebook on the laptop.

You can choose up to 32GB of DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz, or alternatively 16GB of DDR3 at 1600MHz SDRAM. Operating system choices are Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, 64-bit. Since graphics performance will also be important to professionals, Dell offers both NVIDIA Quadro and AMD FirePro graphics cards. Each system will also come with a 3-year limited hardware warranty from Dell and are ISV-certified.

This Dell Precision M4600 comes with several options for the screen, including the premium PremierColor screen. This $450 option has an impressive color display. This IPS screen with LED backlight has 100 percent Adobe RGB color gamut. It should be more than enough for work on the road. While the Dell Precision M4600 is bulky, it is also powerful. It is protected by Dell’s three years warranty. It should give you peace of mind compared to regular non-workstation Dell FV993 battery. You can buy this laptop now, starting from $1,100 for minimal system, and fully configured system will cost you $4,400.

Using your Clickpad, combine the Dell FRR0G battery motion of various finger gestures to quickly launch user definable pre-set applications, scroll through documents, zoom in and out of maps and photos easily.

HP Probook 4421s laptop from list below we list Windows 7, Vista, XP supported devices drivers (sound card, mobile ATI graphics card, Broadcom Wireless LAN, etc.) free, which are the latest for you to solve the driver missing or incompatibility problems effectively.

The HP ProBook 4421s, like the rest of the new HP ProBook family, is a low-cost business notebook designed specifically for small and medium businesses. Translation: this desktop replacement notebook needs to have a good balance of performance, security, reliability and extras all at an affordable price. Most notebooks designed for small and medium business tend to sacrifice build quality in order to help lower the cost of production and lower the cost to customers. On that note, the ProBook 4421s looks very similar to a HP EliteBook 8530p with all plastic construction, a new keyboard and all black finish.

HP offers a broad assortment of power solutions to help you get the most out of your HP Business Notebooks, including new HP ProBook 4421s charger that are both energy efficient and convenient as they can be leveraged across multiple notebook families. Smart Adapter can enhance your productivity by powering your notebook while plugged in, as well as charging your HP ProBook 4421s battery so that you can take your notebook with you when you unplug. HP Smart Adapter also feature integrated surge protection to protect against power fluctuations that can damage your notebook. HP Smart Adapters help you save on equipment, power consumption costs and travel.

HP offers the ProBook 4421s with a 6-cell 58WHr battery. The battery life of the extended life 6-cell Dell FRR0G battery is better than average for a 14-inch notebook, but not amazing. During our timed tests, with the laptop set to "HP Optimized" mode, wireless active, and 70% screen brightness, the ProBook 4421s lasted for 3 hours and 35 minutes before critical shut down. Battery life can also be extended by lowering the screen brightness and using the "power saver" power profile in Windows 7.
