The HP spill-resistant keyboard is designed using a thin layer of Mylar film under the keyboard and a drain system that funnels fluid through a hole in the bottom of the notebook. This minimizes the risk of damage to sensitive components underneath. The 101/102-key compatible keyboard features a full-pitch key layout with desktop keyboard features, such as the isolated inverted-T cursor control keys, editing keys, both left and right control and alt keys, and 12 function keys. US and International key layouts are available. The HP ProBook 4420 has a clean and professional looks with metal brushed cover and a plastic body. ProBook comes in dark bronze and copper shades. Even the screen, palmrest and speaker grill has the brushed metal covers. The surface has a shiny black plastic finish which adds more style to this notebook. The build quality is excellent and it is sturdy when compared to its previous generation. The 4420 is also light weighted as it weighs 2.2kg so it can be easily carried around. It measures 13.23×9.15×1.07 inches. It is not easy to rip open the notebook to swap components so if the user has to access the processor or memory one has to dismantle everything.

The HP USB 2.0 Docking Station uses universal USB technology to pass through critical signals such as video, LAN and peripheral connectivity (keyboard, mouse, printer). No need for a CD, this docking station has flash memory that stores installation-ready software drivers.

The Pros: Good all around business machine - quality components and build for an affordable price. HDMI output. Beautiful aluminum body - a step up from the previous generation 4410s' plastic enclosure.

The Cons: Crappy touchpad presents more issues than it's worth. No TrackPoint (nub / nipple mouse emulation). Features a 16:9 display - lacks the additional vertical resolution of a 16:10 display, poor for internet browsing and productivity applications, not suitable on a business laptop.

The HP ProBook s-series brags new multimedia controls for video and comes loaded with latest ArcSoft TotalMedia Suite to allow users to play, edit and create video and audio files.

HP Power Assistant lets you take control with total visibility over your notebook's reported power consumption! This easy-to-use tool allows you to conserve power, stretch HP ProBook 4420s battery run-time, accurately monitor your reported power needs and report workforce power consumption.

For many laptop users, style is just as important as substance. Luckily, the ProBook s series has plenty of both! All four ProBook models being released in April are wrapped in brushed aluminum. On top of that, two colors are available: Caviar (brown) and Bordeaux (red). MacBook Pro lovers, eat your hearts out.

  5. It’s amazing to be alive in this day and age when you can now get a laptop cheaper than the cost of a mobile phone or even a higher end NVIDIA GeForce video card. Only a 3 decades ago, a flat panel was unheard of, and a hard drive was 5 times the price of a $200 laptop today. $200 to spend on a laptop today gives you much better options that what they used to be. While you might not be able to play graphic intensive games or do video editing, they are more than enough for basic daily functions, like browsing the Internet or using office programs.
